SSC CGL Tier III Syllabus: 2018


Tier-III of SSC CGL 2018 exam is a descriptive exam to test the written skills of the candidates in English/Hindi. The mode of examination is offline and students are required to write essays, prĂ©cis, application, letter etc. in this exam. The exam carries 100 marks and the time allotted for the same is 60 minutes. The time allotted for candidates belonging to PWD category is increased to 80 minutes. Tier-III paper is given by specific candidates who are interested only for the post of “Statistical Investigator Grade II” & “Compiler”.

SSC CGL Tier IV Syllabus: 2018

Tier-IV examination comprises of couple of skill sets required for certain Government Posts all over the country.

DEST (Data Entry Speed Test): For the post of Tax Assistant (Central Excise and Income Tax),DEST Exam through SSC CGL 2018 exam is conducted to check the typing speed of the candidate. The candidates are given an article in English which they have to type on Computer. A candidate is required to type 2000 words in 15 minutes.

CPT (Computer Proficiency Test): Word Processing, Spread Sheets and Generation of slides are the three modules that are important for this exam and the commission demands a candidate to be proficient in it for the post of CSS, MEA, Inspector (Central Excise), Inspector (Preventive Officer),
Inspector (Examiner).

Tier-I and Tier-II exam is compulsory for all posts mentioned in the SSC CGL 2018 Notification of while Tier-III is specifically for candidates applying for the post of Statistical Investigator Grade-II and Compiler. Similarly, Tier-IV exam is taken by candidates applying specifically for TA, CSS, MEA and Inspector.

Penalty for wrong answers
Giving a wrong answer to a question will lead to deduction of 0.5 marks in Tier – I, III and IV while that of 0.25 marks in Tier-II.





SSC CGL 2018 Tier-II Exam Pattern


Tier-II exam has a total mark of 200. A total of 100 questions are asked in each section with 200 questions asked in the English Language Section. A time limit of 2 hours is provided to the candidate to complete each section of SSC CGL 2018 Tier-II Exam.

The cumulative time to complete Tier-II exam is increased to 2 hours 40 minutes in case of physically handicapped students. 0.25 marks is deducted as penalty for attempting a question wrong.

SSC CGL Tier-I Exam Pattern


Tier-I exam of SSC CGL 2018 is an online mode of examination having 4 sections in total. The total marks allotted for all the sections is 200 and the total time allotted for the completion of all the sections of Tier-I exam is 60 minutes.

A cumulative time of 80 minutes is allotted to physically handicapped students. 0.5 marks will be deducted from every question that is attempted wrong by a candidate in SSC CGL 2018 exam.

SBI PO 2018 Exam Pattern


The SBI PO Exam is conducted in 3 phases. The written exam is – Prelims & Mains which are conducted online, followed by an interview round. The structure of exams is as follows:

Phase-1: SBI PO Preliminary Examination

This is an online exam where candidates have to solve the question paper in hour for 100 marks. The test comprises of 3 sections. The section-wise distribution of the marks is given below:

The penalty for wrong answers Objective Tests of both Preliminary and Mains exams is 0.25 marks. There will be no penalty for leaving a question blank, i.e. if no answer is marked by the candidate.

Phase-3: Group Exercise & Interview
The aggregate marks of all the candidates clearing both the Objective Tests and Descriptive Test will
be arranged in descending order in each category. The decided number of candidates in each category, as governed by the Bank will be called for Group Exercises and Interview. The qualifying marks in Group Exercises & Interview will be as decided by the Bank. Group exercises account for 20 marks while Interview is for 30 marks.

RRB calls for ONLINE applications from the eligible applicants through “Employment News” (A publication of the Government of India) for various Technical and non-technical categories as well as Para medical posts in Group ‘C’ cadre, as per indent(s) submitted by Chief Personnel Officer of South Western Central and Rail Wheel Factory. The employment notification is also being published on the Internet website (http://www.rrbbnc.gov.in/). Indicative notification is also given through prominent National & Local dailies for wide circulation. The applications, as received in response to such notification, are scrutinized for eligibility and the eligible candidates are called for Computer Based Test with call letters being hosted on this website well in advance of the date of the test.
If numbers of candidates are large, the candidates who qualify in the preliminary exam are called for the next stage test, and the merit list is prepared based entirely upon the result of the main test. In most categories of jobs, there is no interview after the written examination. For a very few specific categories there is a viva after the written exam, while for certain other categories there is a skill test like typing test or stenography test. For categories related to operational safety like Assistant Station Master, Assistant Loco Pilot there will be an aptitude test.


Finally the successful candidates are called for Document Verification for scrutiny of original documents. A panel of names is then recommended to Zonal Railways to the extent of vacancies. The candidates will be required to pass the prescribed medical examination conducted by the Railways before appointment.
